Message from the Chancellor

To make vaccines accessible to students ages 5-11, pop-up vaccination sites will be hosted at DOE buildings serving these students during the month of November. P.S. 325 has been selected for a single-day pop-up vaccination site. A vaccine administrator assigned by the NYC Vaccine Command Center will come to P.S. 325 on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 to administer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to eligible students ages 5-11.

Please review the attached letter, fillable vaccine site flyer, and link to the vaccination portal(Open external link) for more information to know about this opportunity and about the process. Translated materials are available on schools.nyc.gov/covid19Please note that students ages 5-11 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or by an adult designated by the parent or guardian, while receiving their vaccine.  

If you, your student age 12 and up, or someone else you know is still in need of a vaccine, you can visit vaccinefinder.nyc.gov(Open external link) today to choose from hundreds of sites across the city offering appointments or walk-up vaccines at no cost.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Welcome to P.S. 325!

All students in grades 3K through 5 will begin the 2019-2020 school year on Monday, September 13th, 2021. 

3K &Pre-Kindergarten:First & Second Day 9/13 & 9/14 

Parents must stay with their child(ren) on both days.  There will be two (2) one hour sessions each day.  You will be assigned a session time and must stay with your child(ren) both days.  Families can access the 3K &Pre-K entrance via Williams Avenue.     

Beginning September 20th, 2021, the arrival for 3K & Pre-Kindergarten is at 8:00 a.m. daily. Students must enter the school from the entrance near the small Pre-K schoolyard (Williams Avenue near the park). The Pre-K entrance will be remain open to 8:10 a.m. Please try to arrive on time. If students are late, families will need to enter the school through the main entrance, sign in at security desk, and obtain a late pass for each child before your child can go to class.

Dismissal for 3K & Pre-K begins at 2:15 p.m. All Pre-K families should use the 3K & Pre-K entrance for both arrival and dismissal. Please review the 3K a& Pre-K Handbook for additional information pertaining to the programs.

KindergartenFirst Day 9/13 (Full Day) 

Kindergarten is a mandatory grade in NYC Public Schools. It is one of the foundational grades in a child’s education and is very important to success in later elementary school grades. Punctuality and attendance are an important part of your child’s academic success and will be closely monitored throughout the school year. Low attendance results in less instructional time, which may have a negative effect on your child’s progress in school.

Arrival and Dismissal:

The arrival for Kindergarten is at 8:00 a.m. daily. Students may begin to enter the building at 8:00 a.m. Kindergarten students should enter the school from the front entrance (closest to Stanley Avenue).  This entrance is for students only.  If Parents/Families would like to enter the school, please enter using the main entrance, sign in at the security desk, and obtain a visitor pass from the main office.  Should you need to speak to the Principal or Administrative Staff, please note that the Main Office will be open at 8:30 a.m.

Please try to bring all Kindergarten students to school on time. The school day begins at 8:00 a.m. If students are late, after 8:00 a.m., they will need to enter the school through the main entrance and obtain a late pass before they can go to class.

GRADES  1-5

Arrival: Students must enter the school from either the front entrance closest to the park or the front entrance closest to Stanley Avenue.  (Please do not send children in through the Main Entrance.)  The front entrances are for student’s only.  The doors will open at 8:00 a.m. for students to enter.  If Parents/Families would like to enter the school, please enter using the Main entrance, sign in at the security desk, and obtain a visitor pass from the main office.  (Parents are not permitted in building until 8:30 a.m.)

Dismissal: Dismissal for students is at 2:20 p.m.   First and Second Grade will be dismissed from the front entrance closest to Stanley Avenue.  Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades will be dismissed from the front entrance closest to the Park.  Please be aware that all visitors who wish to enter the school building must use the main entrance and sign in at the security desk

ALL PARENTS:  We aim for 100% attendance. Please try to keep student absences between 0-3 absences for the full 180 days of school. Students with 100% perfect attendance each month will receive special prizes, awards, and recognition from the school community.

Grades 3, 4 and 5 are New York State Testing Grades, so please note the importance of punctuality all through the year to assure your child’s academic success.

On the first day of school, you will receive a School Lunch Form, Medical Exam Forms for 3K, PK & K, and an Emergency Contact form, which should be written CLEARLY and have more than 2 contacts.  It is imperative that all forms are completed and returned within the first two weeks of school. 

School Meals Application:  It is imperative that you carefully, accurately and quickly complete and return this application.  You may also process your school meal application online at nyc.applyforlunch.com.   

Uniforms

We are a “Uniform School”. Uniforms are mandatory and should be worn daily. 

Grades Pre-K through 5th grade: Khaki bottoms (pants/skirts/skorts/jumper dress) and PURPLE tops.   

Medicals & Immunizations New students in 3K, PK and K and any students new to the NYC school system must return a completed physical exam form by the 2nd week after school begins.  Immunizations are mandatory and we aim for 100% compliance.  Your physician/clinic is aware of your child’s immunization schedule and you need to bring us proof accordingly.  You will be provided with Medical Forms and New Entrant Medical Information at the Open House.

Homecoming 2021!

We are getting reading for our students’ successful return to school! The first day of school this year is on Monday, September 13th. FCS also has a new school schedule. Our school day will now begin at 8:00 a.m. and we are looking forward to seeing you. Please remember that we are still practicing social distancing and wearing masks in our NYC schools. In person instruction – Week of October 4-8, 2020

Group A meets on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Group B meets on Thursday and Friday.

Check your child’s schedule for alternating Mondays.

Group D – Fully remote scholars should check on the Google Classroom schedule and log on at the correct time.

In-person learning starts at 8:30 a.m.

Greetings FCS Family!

I am honored to have the opportunity to work with you again this year, with your beautiful children, and the FCS staff and faculty. I am looking forward to assisting Principal Goodson, the FCS SLT, and PTA with all the great ideas and initiatives to be had this year at FCS.

I am so grateful that our students are back in the building for this school year and that we have a “full house”. We are going to continue to work with our scholars and strive for excellence. It is so great to see our students. We are going to make the school year fabulous! Please continue to reach out to us if you need assistance with anything and thank you for your patience and flexibility as we all navigate this new (temporary) reality.
